2021.10.26 14:47 Efficient_Insect7060 In need of advice (relationship advice)
Quick back story. I am 19 and my ex is 19. Okay so I and my recently ex boyfriend we can call him E broke up because of distance. We were in a long distance relationship and he could not handle having no physical contact (hugs, kisses, snuggles) which would've had to been for months more after we broke up. We were approaching our 3rd year together and it would've been 3 in a few months. I am not currently able to afford to move over 1000 miles away to live with his parents til I can have work there. My parents don't even know about him yet because of family issues and other things. However he is in love with me and I am madly in love with him. We said we'd still be friends like best friends but I love him so much and had my whole life planned with him. What should I do now? Do I work more and save up to move across the country to be with him or do I move on? I feel so broken without him 💔

2021.10.26 14:47 Agreeable_Mixture978 Recovering from smoking mistakes
Dear Smart People,
After being an idiot and putting complete faith in my thermometer, I have realized 2hrs into my cook that my offset temperature was MUCH higher than I needed. I have 2x8.5lb bone-in pork shoulders going and was aiming for 8-8.5 hrs at 275F. After 2hrs I opened the lid to mist the shoulders and noticed the one closest to the firebox was looking dark on one side, I moved my thermometer to that side and the reading jumped from 240F to 350F. My question is: How does this change the remaining cook time and temp? I switched the shoulders, moved them towards the far end, and haven't put in as much wood so the temp is sitting around 250F on side closest to the firebox.

2021.10.26 14:47 yolo_ipso_facto Flying with a keyboard stand: How do you pack it?
I don’t normally fly for gigs and this question is for those who travel with lightweight to medium weight keyboard stands:
Do you normally check it, bring it as a carry-on without any bag, carry it on in a bag, or check it in a bag with other equipment? It’s such a weird item to pack!
I guess I’m trying to find out if I can just tape it shut without packing it and count it as a carry-on and also figure out how much TSA might hassle me for any of these methods?

2021.10.26 14:47 What_The_Hex Looking for an image-hosting website/service where the image URLs follow a predictable & consistent format based upon the filenames
One key step in my workflow involves batch-uploading a pool of photos to a central storage hub, then copying the URLs of the corresponding photos to a given cell in an Excel document.
Functionally what this accomplishes is: It prepares a CSV spreadsheet for import, with the photos in the correct locations so that everything is formatted correctly.
Here is the problem with the current approach: It's very slow + time consuming because it requires these URLs to be located + copied one-by-one, on an individual basis. So the filename base needs to be searched for, it takes a few seconds to load the results, and only then do the correct files appear in the results -- with the URLs able to be copied from there and pasted into the spreadsheet.
While this would not be a problem for small numbers of images, this workflow is set up in a way where this process gets repeated hundreds of times over. Thus, needing to do this one-by-one ends up taking several hours of time.
The best way to speed this up would be to utilize an image hosting website or service that allows for a pool of images to be batch-uploaded -- and then the URLs of these uploaded images follow a completely consistent format.
The way it works on the current hosting site is: The URLs contain seemingly random strings of numbers that just are not predictable from the base filenames.
So let's say one set of images are named as follows:
What ends up happening is that, on the current website, the URL of the uploaded image isn't predictable from these filenames. It will instead contain a bunch of random numbers like as follows:
Instead what I am looking for is an image-hosting website or service where -- from the filenames -- the end URL that it will be uploaded on and viewable on is 100% consistent and predictable. Something like:
The reason this is so important is because if the end URL was predictable, it would allow this step of the process to be sped up probably by a factor of 100-1000 or so. Instead of manually having to come in, find the individual product photos, copy the URLs from the website, and paste it, we could instead just write a program that uses the filename bases to prepare the end URLs and paste them into the spreadsheet.
This is currently the most time-consuming step in the workflow, but by finding an image-hosting website or service that has predictable upload URLs, we could radically speed this up.
So if anybody knows of such a site or service that has this functionality, I would really, really appreciate it!

2021.10.26 14:47 Vampiresbane- My Guide on how to Wild West a Rimworld
Rimworld - Wild West style
Over the last year or so I've been lurking on the forums, reading up on guides, etc and I think it's about time I give back. In fast, it was in these forums that I figured out what mods would work best for a Wild West version of Rimworld in the first place.
So to help answer the fairly frequent "Are there Wild West mods for Rimworld?" I have written a pretty large guide. It covers what mods I recommend and others use for both B18 version and the 1.3 version of Rimworld, what mod settings I used, and what Rimworld settings I also altered. Last, but not least, I go over some tips as what to look out for because a Wild West playthrough is a very different one from that of a vanilla playthrough. Don't worry though, you can still make human leather hats. :P
Here is the steam link to the guide:
Wild West Rimworld: How to make a Western out of Rimworld
Let me know if you have any feedback, criticisms, or questions. If it makes sense to add them into the guide itself, I will. Otherwise I may just reply to them here.
Cheers ya no good, yella-bellied varmints.
